After graduating from St. Norbert College in DePere, I found work around northeastern Wisconsin and eventually ended back up in my hometown of Appleton. Now, I spend my free time going for walks in the country, cross-country skiing, and sailing when I get the chance.
Favorite Board Game: Evolution was one of the first board games I played from the “new generation” of board games. And though I’ve played many others since then, it has consistently remained at the top on my list. I love how the rules are so simple but they allow for so many strategies and outcomes. There is a great balance of resource management, predicting other players, and creating the perfect build for a situation that changes from moment to moment. That, and it’s fun to chow down on your friends!

I was born and raised in Appleton, WI and attended the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. I moved to Minneapolis, MN in 2012 and have been there ever since. When I’m not playing board games, I enjoy playing my guitar and drums, going to cruises and car shows, checking out local breweries, 3D printing, and watching sports (Go Pack Go!).
Favorite Board Game: This is always a hard question to answer because I like so many games. If I had to only pick one, I’d go with Terraforming Mars (thanks to Matt for introducing me to it). I appreciate how it blends so many mechanics (such as drafting, tile-laying, and resource management) into such a neat package with a rich story. This is definitely my most-played game, and I don’t see that changing any time soon.

I am from Appleton as well, and my board game addiction really began when I discovered the Red Dragon Inn and brought it to Ethan's dorm on multiple trips. After many nights of listening to pub music while slowly running out of Red Dragon gold, I decided to grow my board game collection well into the 50 count. Today the board game addiction is strong, as I love playing new games and learning new mechanics.
Favorite Board Game: My favorite board game is a choice between Castles of Mad King Ludwig or Heaven and Ale. Both games are great fun in their own respect, with both requiring a decent amount of mental planning and decision-making.
