junkernauts

Picture
A tactical 1v1 miniatures skirmish game of scrapyard bots and improvised weapons.

Humans are gone. Smart appliances inherited the Earth. Unfortunately, they also inherited violence, poor impulse control, and circular saws.

In Junkernauts, players command teams of battle-ready bots, refurbish them from the junkyard, bolt on weapons and tools, and fight over objectives in fast, tactical skirmishes.

The game is currently available as a free 3D Print & Play playtest kit ahead of a future Kickstarter launch.

Prototype Notice

Please note that this game is still in its prototype phase and is therefore subject to change. We are currently finishing up artwork and development and expect to have the game available for sale in 2027. If you see us at a convention, there's a good chance you'll be able to check it out!

Game Overview

Picture
In the rusted remains of civilization, the world belongs to the bots.

Each round, players secretly build their forces by refurbishing bots from their junkyards and attaching tools, weapons, and shields. They then take turns deploying and activating bots on the battlefield.

Every bot has a different role, and every tool changes what that bot can do. A harmless-looking appliance can become a melee bruiser, a ranged attacker, or an objective runner.

Victory comes from scoring objectives, destroying enemy bots, grabbing flags, controlling key spaces, and adapting your team as the battlefield changes.

What Makes Junkernauts Different?

Modular Bot Building
Bots are not fixed units. You decide what to attach to them each round, creating different tactical roles from the same pool of bots and tools.

Fast, Alternating Turns
Players take turns deploying, activating, attacking, moving, and passing, keeping both players involved throughout the round.

Destruction Is Not the End
Destroyed bots return to your supply and can be rebuilt in later rounds. You are not just trying to preserve units; you are managing tempo, tools, junk, and board position.

Objectives Matter
The starter game uses Deathmatch and Capture the Flag, while advanced play introduces additional objectives for more varied scenarios.

Built for Iteration
